The Weight of August
Spring asks for patience. Summer asks for attention. August asks us to be prepared.
The branches are growing heavier, the colour is deepening, and another harvest is almost here.
Inside the cidery, July is still being put away.
We're catching up after a busy month. Cleaning totes, restocking shelves, making cider, and getting everything back where it belongs before the whirlwind of pressing begins.
It's one of the things we love most about this time of year. It's the moment the orchard hands the season back to us.
Next week, apples from backyards, farms, colonies, and small orchards across Manitoba will begin making their way here. For a few weeks, the cidery becomes the place where hundreds of Manitobans’ harvest meet.
